Michael Jones

We are saddened to share the news that former ORB Gateway Club Chairman Michael Jones died on Thursday 24th July. Michael has been a good friend to our club and regularly brought his son Ed to the club for many years.

During his career, Michael was a journalist and was political editor for the Sunday Times and had many interesting stories to tell.

Sheila, his wife, has been a regular supporter of our Tuesday club.

Our thoughts are with Michael's family at this time and they have very generously asked that instead of flowers for the funeral, donations be made to the Club.

Our Tuesday Club Events Planner Cam Renae has written a book about her life - "The Lost Thirty Minutes"

In this deeply moving memoir, Camille Renae invites readers into her world, where a mere thirty-minute delay in her birth changed everything. Born with cerebral palsy after complications during her birth, she sheds light on the struggles of daily life for disabled individuals. From the physical limitations to the emotional strain of losing dignity, as well as the difficulty in securing a job as a disabled person, and the frustration of being unable to live independently. Yet, amidst the challenges, Camille dreams of a life where she could teach and experience the joy of motherhood. Her story is a poignant reminder to cherish every moment - because every minute truly counts.
